She explained that while the show can bring quick fame, the attention housemates receive usually fades soon after they leave the Big Brother house.

During a Twitch livestream, Phyna noted that fans often move on to the next batch of contestants each season, making it difficult for former housemates to maintain the same level of public interest they enjoyed during the show.

She also pointed out that the value and prestige of being a BBNaija star have diminished over time, as public perception has changed. Many assume that life after the show guarantees instant success, but that’s often far from reality.

According to Phyna, many former housemates quietly face struggles, despite social media portraying a life of luxury and ease. She emphasized that the real post-show experience is often very different from the glamorous image viewers see on screen.

Phyna advised prospective contestants to be fully aware of the pressures that come with fame and the challenges they may face once the season ends.

She said: “The recognition housemates have on the show doesn’t last. It’s the same fan base that moves from one contestant to the next—no new people, nothing new. And on top of that, the show has lost credibility compared to how it used to be. Today, if you tell someone you came out of BBNaija, they won’t rate you the way they used to.”
