Political Tension Rises As Bwala Takes Swipe At Peter Obi

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has described former presidential candidate Peter Obi as a “transactional politician-in-chief.”

In a post on , Bwala shared a video of Obi and referred to him as the leader of what he called “online trojans,” alleging that their judgment is influenced by delusion. He used strong language in his remarks, criticising Obi’s political style and supporters.

The comments followed Obi’s denial of claims that he sought Bwala’s support during the 2023 presidential election.

Reacting on behalf of the former Anambra State Governor, the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), through its spokesperson Ibrahim Umar, dismissed the allegations as false. The group said it felt compelled to respond to prevent misinformation.

Umar maintained that Obi has consistently rejected transactional politics and does not engage in practices involving financial inducement for political support. He added that Obi’s approach is based on persuasion, urging collective efforts toward national development and reform.

According to the statement, Obi focuses on promoting good governance and encouraging voluntary participation from individuals who share his vision. It further described Bwala’s claims as unfounded and reiterated that Obi remains committed to building a better Nigeria through dialogue and shared conviction.

The statement also called on critics to reconsider their stance and join efforts aimed at advancing national progress.
