The “Pride of Rivers” will join the competition at the last-eight stage, where they are set to face the winner of the first-round clash between Star FC and Reign FC. The quarter-final match is scheduled for Thursday, April 16.
The tournament’s opening-round fixtures begin on April 10, with Tobinsnet FC facing DeCardinal FC. On April 13, Willbros FC will take on Prime7 FC, while De-Future Stars FC will battle Ereme Jackson FC.
The semi-final matches are scheduled for April 20 and 21, while the men’s final will kick off at 3 p.m. on April 25. All matches will be played at the Sharks Stadium and the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile, Plateau United technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has expressed disappointment over the absence of their home fans, despite his team’s convincing win over Ikorodu City.
The Peace Boys secured a dominant 4–1 victory in their Matchday 33 clash at the Lafia City Stadium on Monday. Plateau United have been playing their home games in Lafia due to security concerns in Jos.
Ogunbote admitted that the team felt the impact of not playing in front of their usual supporters.
“We really missed the support of our ‘twelfth man’, the fans,” Ogunbote said. “Although we appreciated the support from the Lafia crowd, we would have preferred to play this match in Jos.”
