Seun Kuti Reveals How His Mum Smuggled Cannabis To Fela In Bread During Detention
Singer Seun Kuti has shared a striking childhood memory involving his late parents, Fela Kuti and Fehintola Kuti, during a period when his father was in detention.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Seun, the incident happened when Fela was being held at the Federal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Alagbon Close. He recalled that his mother once hid cannabis inside a loaf of bread and asked him to hand it over to his father during a visit.
Seun said he was only about eight or nine years old at the time and had no idea what he was carrying. He simply followed his mother’s instruction and gave the bread to his father without suspecting anything unusual.
He revealed that it was only after they left the detention facility that he learned what had been hidden inside the bread. According to him, his sister later told him the truth, explaining that their mother had informed her but deliberately kept him in the dark so he would not unknowingly say something to the police.
Reflecting on the moment, Seun described his parents as fearless and unconventional, recalling the episode as one of the many extraordinary experiences from his upbringing.
