Peller was arrested in December 2025 after he deliberately caused a car accident in Lagos following a breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis. The Federal Road Safety Corps later ordered his arrest and prosecution over reckless driving.

While chatting with Funke Akindele at the premiere of the movie Love Notes, Peller revealed that the actress played a key role in helping him regain his freedom. Expressing gratitude, he said Funke intervened on his behalf and supported him during the ordeal, describing her actions as life-changing.

In a related development, actress Iyabo Ojo has also spoken about the impact of Funke Akindele’s late mother on her family. In an Instagram post, Iyabo recounted how the late doctor once stepped in to help safeguard her children, Festus and Priscilla, during a frightening period.

Iyabo described Funke’s mother as an exceptional and compassionate individual whose care went beyond her medical duties. She recalled how the reassurance, prayers, and support she received from the doctor helped avert a potential tragedy and brought her peace of mind.

She added that even during moments of disagreement, Funke’s mother continued to offer guidance and spiritual support, noting that she always felt her presence and prayers while raising her children.
