The Real Reason Tinubu Succeeded As Lagos Governor — Ndume Finally Speaks Out

He claimed that the President is now mainly surrounded by wealthy elites who are familiar only with areas like Ikoyi and Victoria Island, and who often travel overseas to reunite with their families.

Ndume made these remarks during an interview on Arise Television.

According to him, “The President had capable and dedicated people around him when he governed Lagos, and that was a major reason for his achievements. However, many of those people are no longer part of his circle today. They have been sidelined.

“Now, he seems to choose individuals who only know Ikoyi and Victoria Island, and then fly off to London or America where their families reside. Some of these people are not even fully connected to Nigeria. They don’t understand politics.

“The President has long been active politically and supported several candidates in the past. The first candidate he backed from the North did not succeed. The second also failed. The third was the one that worked. After that, he declared it was his turn, which is where the slogan ‘emilokan’ came from.

“But instead of bringing in a team that can speak honestly to him and tell him the truth, he has chosen to surround himself with people who lack political understanding.”
