The governor made this known during the groundbreaking ceremony of the ₦39.3 billion Otovwodo Flyover in Ughelli North Local Government Area. He revealed that FAAC disbursements to states have risen significantly and urged governors to channel the additional funds into tangible projects that improve citizens’ welfare.

Oborevwori stressed that there is no reason to mislead Nigerians about the financial situation of states, insisting that adequate funds are available.

According to him, “More money is coming to the states. I am not a governor who will hide it. There is money. Use the money, as we are using it in our state. Use it in your state so the people can be happy. Some people want to pretend there is no money, but the money is there.”

He maintained that the improved allocations have placed state governments in a better position to fast-track development and strengthen public trust in governance.

Describing the Otovwodo Flyover as a critical infrastructure project, the governor said it would ease traffic congestion and boost commercial activities in Ughelli and surrounding areas. The Otovwodo junction, he noted, is a major gateway linking Warri, Asaba, and Patani along the East-West Highway, making it one of the busiest routes in Delta State.

Oborevwori added that the project reflects his administration’s commitment to accountability and people-focused infrastructure development, noting that once completed, the flyover would enhance trade, reduce travel time, and improve safety for commuters.
