The President is expected to spend the upcoming Sallah holiday in Lagos, where he will observe the festive break before resuming official duties.

Tinubu departed London on Thursday night after a two-day visit at the invitation of the British royal family. He had earlier left Abuja on Tuesday, March 17, for the trip as a guest of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

During the visit, the British monarch hosted Tinubu and his delegation, including the First Lady, at Windsor Castle from March 18 to 19. The trip marked the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the UK in 37 years and the first time a Nigerian president has been received at Windsor Castle.

The visit focused on strengthening longstanding ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with discussions centred on immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

While at Windsor Castle, the President and First Lady were shown a special exhibition of items from the Royal Collection linked to Nigeria. Tinubu also held private talks with King Charles and engaged with organisations involved in interfaith dialogue.

A state banquet was hosted in honour of the Nigerian delegation.

Tinubu also met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street, where both leaders discussed expanding bilateral relations. The meeting resulted in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding covering trade, investment, defence, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
