Two Result Sheets?” – PDP Spokesman Raises Fresh Alarm Over Alleged 2027 Rigging Plot

National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ini Ememobong, has alleged that certain actors are already devising strategies to manipulate the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Thursday during an interview on Arise Television, Ememobong claimed that the alleged plan involves collusion with some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to him, those behind the scheme intend to duplicate the serial numbers on the EC8A result sheets and use identical numbers on separate documents. He warned that this could result in the emergence of two different result sheets bearing the same serial number.

Ememobong explained that at polling units, the total number of accredited voters would be obtained from the BVAS device, which captures accreditation figures electronically. However, because voting itself is conducted manually, he alleged that the vote totals could be manipulated outside the polling unit.

“They will call someone at the polling unit to get the total accreditation figure from BVAS. Then they will use that number to fill out another result sheet elsewhere,” he claimed.

He further alleged that some individuals have a history of filling out result sheets privately and attempting to present them as authentic.

Ememobong also noted that voter turnout in the last general election stood at about 26 percent of registered voters, adding that participation in elections reflects citizens’ level of trust or skepticism in the electoral system.
