Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney has named Hugo Ekitike and Granit Xhaka as the most impressive signings in the Premier League this season, following the conclusion of the winter transfer window on Monday night.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, the former England captain praised Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike and Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka for their outstanding contributions since joining their clubs.
“Ekitike and [Granit] Xhaka at Sunderland have probably been the two best signings in the Premier League. I really enjoy watching Ekitike play,” Rooney said.
