We Yelled At Each Other!” – Senator Kingibe Reveals Fiery Exchange With Wike

Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ireti Kingibe, has recounted a heated phone exchange with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike that escalated into a shouting match.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Kingibe said she had repeatedly tried to reach Wike over an urgent matter, but her calls went unanswered.

According to the senator, when Wike finally picked up, both parties raised their voices before ending the call. The situation was later defused after Senate President Godswill Akpabio intervened with a three-way call, which helped resolve the issue.

Kingibe explained, “I have Wike’s number, and he has mine. I knew I had the right contact. I called him repeatedly until he finally answered.

“When he did, he started yelling at me, and we ended up yelling at each other for several minutes before hanging up. Then the Senate President stepped in and set up a three-way call, and we managed to resolve the issue. This was urgent, and I was determined to get through to him.

“I asked if he was in his office and offered to come see him, but he said no. It sounded as if he thought I might do him harm—that was the tone of the conversation.”
