Why I Sold The Limousine Gifted To Me” — Pastor Adeboye Explains Sh*cking Decision

Pastor Adeboye recalled receiving a Mercedes-Benz from an elderly woman at a time when he was still traveling by bus. Unsure how to respond, he left the car unused for a while. Later, he had a dream that reminded him that rejecting the gift would prevent the woman’s blessing from coming to fruition.
Taking this guidance to heart, he gave the car to his late deputy, Pastor Abiodun, who advised him to enjoy it. Pastor Adeboye, however, chose to pass the gift on.
Over time, he received three more Mercedes-Benz cars, which left him astonished. On one occasion, a man arrived at his home at 2:00 AM with a rare six-door Mercedes limousine, claiming it had been sent by God.
After praying, Pastor Adeboye felt led to sell the car. He used the proceeds to buy motorcycles for his pastors, demonstrating how he redirected luxury gifts to serve others.
He shared his reflections, saying:
“I almost thought, ‘Alakoba wo le leyi?’ I hoped this wouldn’t bring me into trouble. Why are you robbing my daughter of her blessing? She sowed a seed, and it must germinate. Even if I die and they put me in this car, will you allow me to sell it?”
Ultimately, he sold the limousine and used the funds to bless his pastors with motorcycles, turning a luxury gift into a tool for ministry.
