Wike Speaks Out On Fubara’s Second Term Ambition – PDP Chieftain Reveals Details

Sani addressed the matter during an interview on Symfoni TV, where he spoke about internal developments within the PDP and the public interest in the relationship between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his successor, Governor Fubara.

According to Sani, Wike has made it clear that he does not wish to be questioned about whether Fubara will seek re-election for a second term. He noted that the former governor has chosen not to comment publicly on the issue.

Sani explained that this stance appears intended to prevent early political debates within the party, which could potentially create division among supporters.

He added that conversations about re-election or succession can generate unnecessary tension if raised too early, especially before formal party processes begin. Such discussions, he said, may lead supporters to interpret statements differently, resulting in disagreements that could affect party unity.

The PDP chieftain observed that political leaders often prefer to address matters of candidacy closer to the time of primaries or official nominations.

He further stated that while the people of Rivers State are closely monitoring the situation, leaders are likely trying to ensure that political disagreements do not disrupt governance and development in the state.
