₦1.8 Trillion Windfall! FG, States, LGs Share Record June Revenue – Full Breakdown Inside

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of ₦1.818 trillion among the Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils as revenue generated in June 2025.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, signed by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations.

Revenue Sharing Details

The revenue was shared during the July 2025 FAAC meeting held in Abuja.

The ₦1.818 trillion total distributable revenue was composed of:

  • ₦1.018 trillion from statutory revenue

  • ₦631.507 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT)

  • ₦29.165 billion from Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL)

  • ₦38.849 billion from exchange rate gains

  • ₦100 billion from non-mineral revenue augmentation

Who Got What?

  • Federal Government: ₦645.383 billion

  • States: ₦607.417 billion

  • Local Government Councils: ₦444.853 billion

  • Oil-producing states received an additional ₦120.759 billion as 13% derivation revenue.

Surge in Statutory Revenue

According to FAAC’s communiqué, gross statutory revenue for June rose significantly to ₦3.485 trillion, up ₦1.390 trillion from the ₦2.094 trillion recorded in May 2025.

Meanwhile, VAT revenue dropped to ₦678.165 billion, a decline of ₦64.655 billion from May’s ₦742.820 billion.

Statutory Revenue Distribution:

  • Federal Government: ₦474.455 billion

  • States: ₦240.650 billion

  • LGAs: ₦185.531 billion

  • 13% derivation to oil-producing states: ₦118.256 billion

VAT Distribution:

  • Federal Government: ₦94.726 billion

  • States: ₦315.754 billion

  • LGAs: ₦221.027 billion

Other Revenue Components:

EMTL (₦29.165 billion):

  • FG: ₦4.375 billion

  • States: ₦14.582 billion

  • LGAs: ₦10.208 billion

Exchange Difference (₦38.849 billion):

  • FG: ₦19.147 billion

  • States: ₦9.712 billion

  • LGAs: ₦7.487 billion

  • 13% derivation: ₦2.503 billion

Non-Mineral Augmentation (₦100 billion):

  • FG: ₦52.680 billion

  • States: ₦26.700 billion

  • LGAs: ₦20.600 billion

Revenue Trends

FAAC noted increased revenue from Companies Income Tax (CIT), Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), and EMTL. However, it also reported a decline in collections from Oil and Gas Royalties, VAT, Import Duties, Excise Duties, and Common External Tariff (CET) levies.
