The choice of who will emerge as the next Senate president will depend on the party zoning. The chief whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu might have a problem being the number three man in the country because;
- He openly supported Ahmed Lawan to emerge, as the winner of the All Progressive Congress, presidential ticket, this has automatically put a question mark on his loyalty. Ohaneze group also urged Tinubu not to choose him because “he will bite him”.
- Speculations of the party zoning the seat to the region which gave them the highest votes which is the North West and Deputy to South East.
“Senator Orji Kalu and Senator Sani Musa are both very close to me and I am proud to call them my brothers.”
