17-Year-Old Boy Fakes Kidnap, Demands N1 Million Ransom....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Delta State Police Command has recently apprehended 12 suspects, among them a 17-year-old individual whose identity remains undisclosed, for orchestrating a fake abduction in the Agbor region of the state. Commissioner of Police, Abaniwonda Olufemi, disclosed that the teenager had depleted the ransom sum before being apprehended.

It was discovered that the suspect had transmitted a voice message to his sister, alleging his kidnapping and the demand for a N1 million ransom by his purported captors. Prompt action by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led to the arrest of three suspects, although they had already acquired and recklessly spent N700,000 of the ransom.

Commissioner Olufemi stated, “On March 20, 2024, the DPO Agbor Division received a report concerning the suspected kidnapping of a 17-year-old boy (identity withheld) in Okhumera quarter, Agbor-Obi.”

He further added, “The investigation uncovered that the 17-year-old colluded with his associates and staged his own kidnapping. Prior to their arrest, they had extorted a ransom of N700,000 and squandered the proceeds. Investigations are ongoing.”

Expressing concern over the proliferation of illicit drugs, Olufemi highlighted ongoing collaborative efforts with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to combat the scourge in society.
