20-Year-Old College Student Disappears Without A Trace During Visit To Family Farm

Nineteen-year-old Faith Omodon, a second-year student studying Business Administration at Delta State University, has been reported missing in Edo State.

Faith was last seen on March 30, 2024, after leaving her home to visit her father’s farm.

Her father, Edward, who hails from the Iru Egbede community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, recounted the incident which coincided with the community’s annual conference, known as the “Iru National Conference.”

“We were attending the conference when we heard cries outside, informing us that my daughter was missing,” he said.

“She had departed for the farm that morning, taking her breakfast with her on a motorbike.”

Ikpoba Johnbull, the leader of the village vigilante group, disclosed that they immediately launched a search operation along with Faith’s mother but found no sign of her even after scouring neighboring villages like Izighiri and Uwumuwe.

“All we discovered were the remnants of her meal in the flask. We alerted neighboring vigilante groups and spent the night searching the bushes, but to no avail. We advised Omodon to formally report the missing person case to the Abudu Police Division.”

Expressing concern, Donald Egboko, the National Youth chairman of the community, appealed to the security agencies to assist in locating Faith.

The Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Iyayi Kenneth, confirmed the report, stating that the case had been transferred to the state police command for further investigation.
