The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially opened registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The announcement was made on the Board’s X account on Tuesday night, confirming that UTME registration is now open to qualified candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the upcoming academic year.

According to the post, signed by JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede, registration for UTME candidates will commence on Monday, January 26, 2026, and close on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The UTME examination itself is scheduled for April 2026, with exact dates to be confirmed by the Board.

Candidates are reminded that possession of a valid National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for registration. Eligibility requires candidates to be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026. However, younger candidates may apply if they meet specific criteria, including a minimum score of 80% in UTME/A-Level, PUTME, SSCE, and a special candidate assessment. Their results will be released after thorough evaluation.

For Direct Entry (DE) candidates, the sale of application forms and E-PINs will start on Monday, March 2, 2026, and end on Saturday, April 25, 2026. DE documents are available only at JAMB State and Zonal Offices.

The 2026 UTME examination is scheduled to run from Thursday, April 16, 2026, to Saturday, April 25, 2026. Additionally, an optional Mock-UTME will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
