The pledge came during a livestream on Tuesday, where Peller outlined his plan to motivate the national team ahead of the high-stakes match. He explained that offering financial incentives could inspire the players to give their best on the field.
“I will reward Ademola Lookman with ₦500,000 for every goal he scores against Morocco,” Peller said. “This is my way of supporting the Super Eagles and motivating them before the match. To encourage them more, you have to give them more money.”
Nigeria is set to face Morocco today, January 14, 2026, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The Super Eagles secured their semi-final spot with a 2-0 victory over Algeria, while Morocco reached the last four after defeating Cameroon 2-0, setting up a highly anticipated encounter.
