2027 Ambitions: Former Presidential Candidate Adebayo Launches Massive Drive To Expand SDP Membership

Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) 2023 presidential candidate, has unveiled plans to strengthen the party and attract more defectors ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Adebayo confirmed that he has formally informed the SDP of his intention to contest the presidency again in 2027.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve the party’s internal processes, address cultural clashes arising from new members, and ensure the SDP delivers on its promises to Nigerians.

Adebayo said, “I have informed my party, the SDP, that I will be running for the presidency again in 2027, and everyone knows about my intentions. I am working with the party to strengthen it, bring more people in, and enhance our processes to manage challenges, especially cultural differences from new members, to ensure the party does not disappoint Nigerians.

“The best prayer is for the road to be rough because overcoming difficulties makes you appreciate the destination. We are committed to dealing with issues head-on. When challenges are external, like government interference or outside pressures, we confront them. When they are internal, we face them directly—we do not pretend or hide from them.”
