2027: “Automatic Return Awaits Him” – Dungurawa Sends Strong Message To Gov Yusuf
The immediate past chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Hashimu Dungurawa, has urged Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to reconsider any plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking in an interview with Daily Post on Sunday, Dungurawa cautioned that while Yusuf’s re-election is virtually guaranteed on the NNPP platform, a move to the APC could expose him to a difficult and unfriendly political landscape.
“It remains my prayer that the governor stays in our party. Leaving the NNPP would create a vacuum that would be very hard to fill,” he said.
According to the former party chairman, the APC does not offer a supportive environment for the governor, describing it as a political space dominated by his opponents.
“Remaining in the NNPP works in his favour because where he intends to go is a camp of his enemies,” Dungurawa stated.
“Here in the NNPP, everyone supports him. No one is fighting him, and everyone genuinely wishes him well.”
He maintained that Yusuf’s second-term ambition would face no obstacles if he remains with the NNPP.
“If he stays in our party, he will automatically return as governor for a second term. There is no clear path where he is headed, so the wisest option is to remain with us,” he added.
Dungurawa further assured the governor of the party’s full backing ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that the NNPP remains strong in Kano State.
“We will all work tirelessly for his victory in 2027 if he stays with us. There is no justification for leaving a comfortable and supportive platform,” he said.
“In 2027, the NNPP will defeat the so-called APC and PDP in Kano State.”
Meanwhile, Governor Yusuf is also reportedly facing mounting pressure from supporters of NNPP national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, under the Kwankwasiyya Movement, who are said to be actively opposing any potential alliance between the governor and the APC.
Sources revealed that the group has warned of serious political consequences in the 2027 elections if the governor ignores their counsel.
