Kwankwaso was said to have received the appeal during a closed-door meeting with NDC National Deputy Chairman Muhammad Rabiu Sabo Bakin, who visited him alongside the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Ahmad Waya.
According to reports, the NDC officials advised the former Kano State governor not to remain in the ADC due to the uncertainties surrounding the party’s leadership dispute. They also reportedly assured him that the NDC was ready to welcome him and his supporters, offering them any roles they may seek within the party.
Meanwhile, the NDC has distanced itself from a social media account on X accused of issuing unauthorized statements in the party’s name.
The disclaimer followed reactions to posts from an unofficial handle, @NDCNigNews, which claimed the party had offered its 2027 presidential ticket to Peter Obi and Kwankwaso, sparking speculation over possible political alignments ahead of the next general election.
In a statement, the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, said only the party’s verified platforms and authorized officials should be regarded as credible sources of information, dismissing claims made through unofficial channels.
