2027 Election: APC Boasts Of Being Better Prepared Than Atiku, Peter Obi
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it is better prepared for the 2027 general elections than opposition parties, expressing confidence in its political structures and electoral strategy.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the ruling party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the statement on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, shortly after the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja.
Morka said the party had begun putting its campaign plans and structures in place, insisting that it was taking the forthcoming elections seriously and would leave nothing to chance.
He attributed the APC’s victories in several bye-elections conducted since the 2023 general elections to its preparation, organisational capacity and established political structures.
According to him, the party was finalising its campaign strategy and preparing to launch a major mobilisation drive to strengthen its chances of retaining power in 2027.
Morka dismissed suggestions that the APC’s early preparations reflected desperation, arguing that election planning was a normal responsibility for any political party seeking victory at the polls.
He also criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, and Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The APC spokesman accused both opposition figures of concentrating on President Bola Tinubu’s performance rather than presenting clear policy proposals and explaining what they would do differently if elected.
Morka maintained that the ruling party was focused on its own agenda and determined to compete strongly in the next general elections.
During the interview, he was also asked whether Nigerians liked and trusted the APC. In response, he pointed to the party’s control of the federal government and several state governments as evidence of its electoral support.
He argued that the party’s victories in previous elections demonstrated that Nigerians had given it the mandate to govern.
The APC’s comments come as political parties begin strengthening their structures and preparing for the 2027 general elections, with the ruling party expressing confidence in its ability to secure another victory.
