The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has unveiled candidates of the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The candidates were presented at a political gathering in Rivers State on Tuesday, according to information released by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka.

The coalition’s list reportedly features politicians from both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), reflecting its involvement with members of the two major political parties.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the coalition has named Ogundu Kingsley Chinda of the APC as its governorship candidate in Rivers State, with Major Jack selected as his running mate.

The unveiling marks another step in the coalition’s preparations for the 2027 elections as political alignments and campaign activities begin to gather momentum across the state.

The Rainbow Coalition has consistently maintained that it will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and work towards his re-election in 2027.

The development is expected to add to the evolving political dynamics in Rivers State as parties and political groups position themselves ahead of the forthcoming governorship and general election contests.
