2027: Keyamo Lists Reasons Tinubu Deserves A Second Term

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has urged all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to set aside their personal political ambitions and focus on securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Keyamo emphasized that Tinubu’s second term is essential to fully implement the extensive reforms already underway.

“Every APC member should be committed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, regardless of personal interests. He needs a second term to complete these vital reforms,” Keyamo stated.

He warned that allowing a different administration to take over in 2027 could derail the progress made so far.

“It would be disastrous for a new government to come in and disrupt these reforms,” he said. “That’s exactly how we ended up with half-baked policies in the past.”

In light of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s recent defection to the APC — a major political shift — Keyamo said he had voluntarily relinquished party leadership in the state to the governor as part of efforts to strengthen the party and support Tinubu’s second-term bid.

“I’m ready to make any sacrifice, like ceding party leadership in Delta, if it helps build a stronger APC and ensures the President’s re-election,” he said. “I’m not concerned about personal losses or political setbacks. What matters is that Mr. President wins again.”

Keyamo also described Oborevwori’s defection as a significant blow to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), calling Delta State the “heart” of the opposition.

“The PDP has suffered a major loss. Delta was the backbone of the party and a major financial pillar. They’ve now lost it,” he added.
