The statement, titled “This is FAKE NEWS,” also rejected claims that Atiku had engaged in secret discussions with ADC leaders over a possible move.

Shaibu reaffirmed that Atiku remains firmly committed to the ADC and its mission of national reform, stressing that he will not be distracted by political speculation.

According to the statement: “This is FAKE NEWS. No defection. No secret talks. No shadowy meetings. No political theatrics. Just another clumsy, recycled falsehood manufactured to distract Nigerians from the realities of hardship, insecurity, and a struggling economy. But Nigerians are wiser now.”

It further stated that Atiku remains focused on the ADC’s goal of “rescuing Nigeria from the grip of the current administration,” adding that there will be “no detours, no distractions, and no retreat, only a continued commitment to national rebuilding.
