2027: R.O.B Group CEO Olusoji Balogun Endorses Sharafadeen Alli For Oyo Governorship

The Chief Executive Officer of R.O.B Group, Otunba Olusoji Balogun, has endorsed Senator Sharafadeen Alli as his preferred candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 election.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Balogun made his position known in a statement issued in Ibadan on Sunday, citing Alli’s political experience, public acceptability and preparedness for the governorship position as reasons for his support.

Balogun, an APC chieftain and supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, described the senator as a suitable candidate to lead Oyo State, highlighting his legislative experience and engagement with residents.

“Without mincing words, Senator Sharafadeen Alli is the best for Oyo in 2027. He is a complete package — intellectually sound, administratively experienced, politically grounded and people-oriented. Oyo State needs a man like him at a time like this,” he said.

The business executive attributed his endorsement to Alli’s record as the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District and his contributions to the state over more than two decades in politics.

He pointed to the senator’s legislative activities, constituency empowerment programmes, efforts to create employment opportunities for young people, educational support initiatives and regular interactions with constituents as evidence of his leadership capacity.

Balogun maintained that Alli’s activities had demonstrated a commitment to grassroots development, arguing that the state needed a governor who would remain accessible to the people and deliver on campaign promises.

“Oyo people can testify that this is the first time they are having a Senator who combines legislative brilliance with grassroots impact. From Ibadan to Ibarapa, the testimonies are everywhere. That is the kind of leader Oyo needs as Governor — someone who will perform and not disappear after election,” he stated.

He also described Alli as a committed progressive who shares Tinubu’s political philosophy and supports the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to Balogun, Alli’s loyalty to the APC, political experience and connections could help attract greater federal attention and development projects to Oyo State if he becomes governor.

“Senator Alli is a true progressive. He believes in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He understands that governance puts people first. His loyalty to our party, the APC, is unquestionable. He has paid his dues. He has the network to bring federal presence to Oyo State like never before,” he added.

Balogun’s endorsement comes as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election, with aspirants and party stakeholders positioning themselves for the APC governorship ticket in Oyo State.
