2027 Race Heats Up As ADP Presidential Candidate Unveils Running Mate

The presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the 2027 general election, Aliyu Bin Abbas, has announced Chinazam Ike as his running mate.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Abbas’ Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson.

According to the statement, the vice-presidential nomination reflects the party’s commitment to building a united, inclusive, competent, and youth-driven leadership capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges.

“This strategic decision reflects our unwavering commitment to building a united, inclusive, competent, and youth-driven leadership that truly represents the aspirations of all Nigerians.

“Together, we are determined to offer a credible alternative capable of restoring hope, strengthening national unity, promoting economic prosperity, and delivering purposeful governance,” the statement read.

Abbas described Ike as an accomplished political leader, entrepreneur, and youth advocate from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

He noted that Ike brings more than two decades of political and leadership experience, having served in several strategic positions, including as former Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, as well as National Youth Leader of the ADP.

Beyond politics, the statement said Ike has also distinguished himself in the private sector as Project Director of Season.com Nig. Ltd., where he has contributed to housing development and economic growth.

The party further described him as a leader known for integrity, visionary leadership, inclusiveness, and a strong commitment to youth empowerment, democratic governance, and national development.

According to the statement, the Aliyu Bin Abbas-Chinazam Ike ticket represents a new generation of leadership and a renewed national vision founded on competence, justice, equity, innovation, and selfless service.

It added that the ticket symbolises unity across Nigeria’s ethnic, regional, and religious divides, with the shared objective of building a stronger, more prosperous, and more united country.

The party called on Nigerians, particularly young people, women, professionals, traditional rulers, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders, to support its vision for a “New Nigeria” anchored on justice, equal opportunities, security, and shared prosperity.
