2027 Realignment Begins: Jerry Gana Reveals Ongoing PDP-Peter Obi Discussions (Video)

Professor Jerry Gana, a founding figure of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has spoken on Peter Obi’s political relevance and the evolving landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In an interview with AIT, Prof. Gana described Peter Obi — a former PDP member — as a credible and highly respected figure in Nigerian politics. He confirmed that the party has already initiated contact with Obi, aiming to bring him back into its fold.

Reflecting on the 2023 elections, Gana said that if he were in Atiku Abubakar’s shoes, he would have stepped aside to support Obi. Doing so, he noted, would have elevated Atiku to the level of a true statesman.

Prof. Gana also disclosed that talks are ongoing with various southern political leaders and revealed that he is leading the team of delegates involved in these negotiations.
