Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu advised Nigerians dissatisfied with his administration to consider voting him out in the 2027 presidential election. The Ooni disclosed this after an emergency meeting between President Tinubu and Traditional Rulers, including Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, held on Thursday. Ooni of Ife shared that Tinubu emphasized the importance of dialogue and his commitment to addressing Nigeria’s economic difficulties. “The President stated, ‘If you don’t like a leader, wait until 2027 and vote him out.’ He is open to discussion. We are aware of the challenges Nigeria faces, but should we contribute to the destruction of our nation? Building is challenging, but destruction is easy. We are all stakeholders and stronger together,” the Ooni remarked.
Earlier, President Tinubu assured that Nigeria’s economy is recovering, despite growing public dissatisfaction due to high core and food inflation rates of 34.19 percent and 40.87 percent, respectively.
