2027 Sh*cker: Five Governors, Top Party Chiefs Endorse Surprise Presidential Candidate

Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), along with prominent political figures from the North Central region, have unanimously declared their support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid.

The endorsement was made during a strategic meeting held Wednesday evening in Abuja, where five APC governors and other party stakeholders from the region gathered.

In preparation for the 2027 presidential election, the leaders stressed the need for Tinubu to continue for another four-year term in order to sustain and expand on the administration’s current achievements.

During the session, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, formally proposed the motion to endorse President Tinubu for a second term. He stated:

“We, the members of the APC from the North Central geopolitical zone, at this meeting held on May 21, 2025, in Abuja—attended by the SGF, state governors, National Assembly members, ministers, and other key stakeholders—having observed with satisfaction the impressive performance of the APC-led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, have resolved as follows:

To endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek reelection in 2027 to continue the excellent work he has started. The North Central APC remains committed to supporting all people-centered initiatives and policies of the President.”

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, while reading the communique, reaffirmed the group’s confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, stating:

“After closely assessing the current direction of national governance, and recognizing the boldness, vision, and resilience with which President Tinubu has guided the nation through tough times, we unanimously pass a vote of confidence in his administration.

Consequently, we fully support and endorse him to run for a second term in 2027, to consolidate the progress made and ensure the full realization of his reform agenda.”

He also praised President Tinubu for the developmental efforts seen across the North Central region, including infrastructure upgrades, road repairs, educational improvements, rural electrification, and agricultural projects.

“These initiatives, under the Renewed Hope Agenda, are visibly transforming our zone into a hub of growth and opportunity, demonstrating the President’s true commitment to inclusive national development,” Sule added.
