The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, describing him as a repeated presidential candidate who continues to contest elections without success and may still be in the race in 2031.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Wike made the remarks on Thursday while inspecting ongoing road construction projects across Abuja.

His comments followed Atiku’s criticism of the current administration, in which the former vice president argued that government policies have not significantly improved the living conditions of Nigerians.

Responding, Wike said many Nigerians would disagree with that assessment, pointing to visible infrastructure projects currently underway in the Federal Capital Territory.

He also questioned Atiku’s past record in public office, urging him to compare the state of Abuja during his tenure with its current development.

According to Wike, governance should not be overshadowed by political competition, stressing that ongoing development projects must continue regardless of election season distractions.

He further noted that contractors are focused on delivering projects and are not engaged in political disputes.

Wike also assured residents that major road projects connecting satellite towns in Abuja are progressing steadily, adding that the Airport–Kuje road is nearing completion, with parts of the bridge expected to be opened soon and full completion targeted before the end of May.
