2027 Tensions Explode: Gov Sule Reveals How CPC Bloc Was Warned Against Ditching APC

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dismissed alleged threats by former President Muhammadu Buhari, ex-Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and others to exit the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Naija News, Sule addressed the growing speculation that prominent figures from the former Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc were considering leaving the APC due to being marginalized under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking in Lafia on Friday, Governor Sule asserted that efforts to fracture the party would fail. He emphasized that Buhari, the symbolic leader of the CPC faction, remains firmly committed to the APC.

“There is no such thing as CPC leaving APC. Former President Muhammadu Buhari is the face of CPC—no one else,” Sule declared.

“When he affirms CPC’s loyalty, it stands. And should he ever withdraw that support, then CPC is no longer with you. But let me be clear—he is not leaving the APC,” he added.

Sule also noted that during a recent visit to Buhari in Kaduna, the group made it clear: “Baba, you’re not going anywhere.”

He further stated, “Attempts to lure key figures like Malami out of the APC will not succeed. Malami is here to stay.”
