2027 Warning: Ikechukwu Tells PDP Leaders To Stop Political Games Or Risk Defeat

Professor of Strategic Management and Human Capital Development, Okey Ikechukwu, has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to put aside personal pride if they hope to remain competitive in the 2027 general elections.

Ikechukwu made the statement while addressing the ongoing internal disputes within the party and the recent ruling of the Court of Appeal which dismissed the faction led by Taminu Turaki.

Speaking during an interview on Prime Time on Arise Television Prime Time on Tuesday, Ikechukwu stressed that the PDP no longer has the luxury of engaging in prolonged political battles. He urged party members to reconcile and move forward, echoing earlier advice from former Senate President Bukola Saraki.

According to him, pursuing further legal battles up to the Supreme Court could consume valuable time the party needs to prepare for elections.

He said PDP leaders should instead focus on resolving their differences and concentrating on the bigger political objective.

Ikechukwu suggested that party stakeholders should first decide whether they truly intend to contest the next election as a strong opposition capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He added that once that decision is made, the party must then determine its strategy, including selecting credible candidates and building effective campaign structures.

Finally, he noted that the PDP must prioritise voter mobilisation, stressing that processes such as electronic registration will play a key role in strengthening its electoral chances.
