I’m Ready To Replace Tinubu” – Adebayo Declares Ambition To Lead Nigeria Better 🇳🇬🔥

Prince Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, has said he is ready to take over from Bola Ahmed Tinubu and lead Nigeria more effectively.

Adebayo made the statement during an interview with Daily Post, explaining that the real issue ahead of the 2027 election is not whether opposition parties are prepared, but whether Nigerians themselves are willing to demand change from the current administration.

According to him, he believes he is well equipped to govern the country, noting that he is more prepared, deliberate in his plans, supported by capable individuals, and guided by a clearer vision that aligns closely with the Nigerian constitution.

He said the responsibility for political change ultimately lies with the citizens.

“Whether the opposition is ready is not the main issue. What matters most is whether the people are ready. Democracy belongs to the people,” Adebayo stated.

He added that if given the opportunity immediately, he believes he could deliver better results in governance.

“If you ask whether I am ready to take over from President Tinubu and govern the country better, my answer is yes. Even today, if I’m asked to assume office, Nigerians will see improved results right away. I am better prepared, more focused, and surrounded by people who share a clear vision that reflects what the constitution requires,” he said.

Adebayo also rejected the idea that the primary duty of the opposition is merely to criticise the government, explaining that holding the executive accountable should first come from other arms of government.

He noted that the National Assembly has the constitutional responsibility to oversee the activities of the executive, while the judiciary must ensure that both the legislature and executive operate within the law.

According to him, citizens must also play a role by holding their elected leaders accountable.

Adebayo stressed that his aim in politics is not to remain in the opposition but to form the next government.

“My goal is not to build a career in opposition politics. I don’t want to keep being referred to as opposition after elections. I want to become president and Commander-in-Chief. I want to serve in government, not remain a professional opposition figure,” he said.
