2027: ‘We Are Not Angry Enough’ — Falz Fires Powerful Message To Nigerians

Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Falz encouraged Nigerians to pay closer attention to the country’s political landscape and reject the growing belief that their votes do not matter.

According to the entertainer, citizens need to become more emotionally invested in the nation’s challenges and respond more forcefully to issues affecting governance.

“It seems many people are listening, and I hope even more will pay attention and be inspired. One thing we’ve continued to say is that we’re not enraged enough. We’re not angry enough. We need to react more,” he said.

Falz noted that while it is important to criticise those in power, Nigerians must also reflect on their own responsibility in demanding transparency and good governance.

“We often speak truth to power and hold leaders accountable, but we also need to challenge ourselves,” he added.

The activist identified first-time voters as a crucial voting bloc ahead of the 2027 elections, urging eligible young Nigerians to register and participate fully in the democratic process.

He expressed confidence that the growing number of young people entering the electorate could significantly influence the outcome of future elections if they turned out in large numbers.

“The most important people in this process are first-time voters,” Falz said.

Rejecting claims that election outcomes are predetermined, the musician argued that the lengths politicians go to in influencing voters and manipulating electoral processes prove that every vote carries weight.

“If votes didn’t matter, politicians wouldn’t be doing everything possible to influence election results. If votes had no value, there wouldn’t be vote buying,” he stated.

Falz further maintained that massive voter turnout would make it much harder to manipulate election results, urging Nigerians to unite behind their preferred candidates and participate in overwhelming numbers.

“When there is an overwhelming majority moving in one direction, it becomes extremely difficult to rig the outcome,” he said.

He concluded by encouraging all eligible Nigerians—especially young people and first-time voters—to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and prepare to exercise their civic responsibility in the 2027 general elections.
