2027: Why The North Will Back Tinubu Again – Ganduje’s Close Ally Reveals

An ally of former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, Umar Idris Shuaibu, has said that the North — particularly Kano State — will reciprocate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s goodwill during the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with Punch, Shuaibu emphasized that Tinubu’s alliance with northern political leaders, combined with Ganduje’s humility and reconciliatory leadership, has solidified APC’s unity and expanded its dominance across the North-West and beyond.

He noted that even after leaving his position as national chairman, Ganduje’s political influence and people-centered leadership remain the driving force behind the APC’s continued stability and rising popularity in Kano and across the North.

According to Shuaibu, “President Tinubu has always identified with the North, and the North will definitely stand by him when the time comes. The goodwill he enjoys in the region will speak volumes in 2027. Dr. Ganduje’s calmness and people-oriented politics make him an exceptional leader.”

He further described Ganduje as “patient, tolerant, and forgiving,” qualities he said have helped strengthen the APC under his guidance.

Recalling Ganduje’s tenure as party chairman, Shuaibu said the former Kano governor inherited a deeply divided APC in 2023 but was able to mend rifts, rebuild trust, and restore internal cohesion.

“Upon his assumption of office, the party was fragmented, but he united everyone. He reached out to aggrieved members and ensured that no one felt excluded — that’s what defines genuine leadership,” Shuaibu added.
