25-Year-Old Perishes In Lagos Iron Melting Pot Incident

According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident was reported to the Ikorodu police station by the company’s safety officer. Hundeyin noted that the name of the deceased, the safety officer, and the company involved have not been disclosed.

The safety officer reported to the police at 3:51 PM on August 3, 2024, that the 25-year-old had reportedly entered a restricted area and jumped into the iron melting pot. Despite efforts by his colleagues to prevent him, the man was unable to be stopped. His body was completely melted and dissolved by the molten iron.
