The Yobe State Police Command has reported the recovery of the body of a 25-year-old man, Lawan Adamu, who was found murdered in the Nayi-Nawa area of Damaturu.
According to DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the body was discovered following a distress call received at approximately 10:30 PM on September 15. Upon arrival, police officers found the victim with severe throat injuries and multiple stab wounds. A blood-stained knife was also recovered from the scene.
The deceased was transported to the General Hospital Damaturu, where he was pronounced dead by a medical professional. His body has been placed in the hospital morgue.
Following the incident, ‘A’ Division police operatives have arrested a primary suspect, Yunusa Isa (also known as Abba), aged 24.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has instructed detectives to broaden their investigation to uncover the full details surrounding the murder.
The Police Command has assured the public of a comprehensive and prompt investigation, emphasizing that justice will be pursued diligently.
