Nollywood actress, Damilola Adegbite, has shared the reason she has not remarried since her divorce from Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh in 2017.

The actress, who has a son named Brian with her former husband, explained that her decision is largely influenced by the responsibilities of being a single parent.

In a video shared on her Instagram story, Adegbite noted that dating as a single mother requires careful consideration. According to her, choosing a partner goes beyond personal feelings and includes evaluating the person’s character and their potential role in her child’s life.

She emphasized that qualities such as morals, values, and overall character are important factors in deciding who becomes part of her and her son’s life. She also advised against rushing into relationships simply for emotional comfort.

The Merry Men star stressed that any future partner must be someone capable of contributing positively to her child’s upbringing.

She explained that in such situations, a person is not only choosing a partner but also selecting a second parent for their child, highlighting the need for careful and thoughtful decisions.

Adegbite and Attoh met on the set of the TV series Tinsel, welcomed their son in 2014, and later got married in a private ceremony in Accra, Ghana, in February 2015.

Their marriage lasted about two years before ending in divorce in September 2017.
