Obi emphasized that the party’s strength would be enhanced through unity, highlighting the importance of moving forward with a shared purpose and vision. He expressed optimism that through open dialogue, empathy, and a willingness to listen, the party could successfully navigate its current challenges.
“We will resolve our differences and emerge stronger and more unified than ever. Our collective strength lies in unity for the greater national good,” Obi affirmed.
Meanwhile, Peter Obi also weighed in on recent economic developments, citing billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote’s criticism of the Federal Government’s monetary policies. Dangote had vehemently opposed the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decision to raise interest rates, arguing it would stifle economic growth, particularly in manufacturing and small businesses.
Obi echoed these concerns, underscoring the adverse effects of high interest rates on economic expansion and job creation. He pointed out that such policies hinder Nigeria’s transition from consumption-driven to production-driven growth.
“The current economic policies are exacerbating challenges across sectors, leading to job losses, reduced capacity utilization, and discouraging foreign investment,” Obi stated. “We urgently need to reverse these policies to foster growth and revive our economy.”
He concluded, “It is imperative that we implement measures that promote economic prosperity and facilitate a thriving future for Nigeria.”
