Abu Michael Head, Strategic Communications at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), disclosed the development in Abuja. He highlighted the government’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding Nigerians, noting recent successful operations that saw the rescue of the victims in Shinkafi and Tsafe LGAs on June 27, 2024. The rescued individuals, comprising eight males and eight females abducted from Zurmi, Duran, and Gusau Metropolis in Zamfara State on April 22, 2024, were presented to state officials led by Alhaji Abubakar Nakwada, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Ribadu reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s determination to eradicate kidnapping and other serious crimes, urging nationwide support for security agencies. He assured thorough efforts to secure society and eliminate criminal hideouts in ungoverned areas.
Major General Adamu Garba Laka, National Coordinator of NCTC, emphasized the importance of timely reporting suspicious activities to enhance proactive security responses.
