SP Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the command, revealed in a statement in Port Harcourt that a significant number of Black Axe cult members are preparing to observe their Founder’s Day. According to intelligence reports, the group plans to initiate unsuspecting individuals into their ranks and potentially clash with rival cult groups on the same day.

“We have received credible information about the Neo-Black Movement (NBM), also known as Aiye or Black Axe, planning a nationwide commemoration in honor of their Founder’s Day,” Iringe-Koko stated. “This event, dubbed Aiye Day or 7/7, is scheduled to be observed nationwide, particularly in higher educational institutions.”

She highlighted the group’s history of campus violence, inter-cult conflicts, and other violent criminal activities. The command is aware of the group’s intentions to disrupt public peace from their strongholds and on tertiary campuses across the country.

“The event could potentially lead to counter-cult activities, inter-cult violence, and other associated violent crimes in and around tertiary institutions in Rivers State,” Iringe-Koko added. “There is also concern over forced initiations of innocent victims, as well as crimes such as rape and armed robbery.”
