In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kaduna, Mr. Paul Aboi, Director of the Fire Service, disclosed these figures. He identified Kaduna North, Zaria, and Kafanchan as the primary areas affected by the fire outbreaks.

Aboi attributed the causes of the fires to factors such as bush burning, negligence, suspected arson, and improper use of electrical appliances.

“We managed to save property worth over N1 billion, and fortunately, there were no casualties,” he emphasized.

The director highlighted ongoing efforts by the service to certify and recertify business premises for fire safety. He underscored the importance of prioritizing fire safety among all businesses in the state to prevent disasters and ensure a resilient and secure environment for everyone.

Aboi urged collective efforts in adhering strictly to safety protocols and regulations to safeguard the community against fire hazards.
