Imo LG Polls: SDP Sets Chairmanship And Councillorship Forms At N150,000 And N50,000

The announcement was made by the party’s state chairman, Amb. Dr. Eluwa Ifeanyi Henry, during a discussion with journalists in Owerri on Saturday.

He detailed that the Expression of Interest Form for the chairmanship position is N50,000, while the Nomination Form is N100,000. For councillorship positions, the Expression of Interest Form is N10,000, and the Nomination Form is N40,000.

The state chairman also stated that women and senior citizens will pay 50% of the stipulated amounts, while Persons with Disabilities can obtain the forms free of charge.

Eluwa explained that the low prices for the forms are intended to make it easier for interested party members to participate.

He emphasized that the SDP is committed to democracy, aiming to cultivate leaders who will advance humanitarian causes and improve the quality of life for all.

Additionally, the chairman praised the Supreme Court for granting autonomy to the Local Government Administration in the country, calling the judgment a victory for democracy. He stated that this judicial move will enhance good governance, prosperity, and grassroots development.
