Ijeoma Arodiogu, the National Vice Chairman of APC, made this announcement during a stakeholder meeting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, attended by prominent party members from the Southeast. He revealed that discussions are underway with four Labour Party House of Representatives members in Enugu State regarding their potential defection to the APC.

Arodiogu also mentioned that several leaders from opposition parties have joined the APC in Abia State, including former Speaker Chinedu Orji. He expressed the party’s goal of securing 90% of the Southeast votes in the 2027 presidential election, arguing that the community has seen through misleading narratives about the APC, particularly claims from Nnamdi Kanu regarding an alleged Islamization agenda.

“In Enugu State, we are in talks with four Labour Party House of Reps members. In Abia State, we are welcoming many from other political parties, including former Speaker Chief Chinedum Orji and his group,” he stated, emphasizing the party’s growing strength in the region.

Arodiogu underscored that APC is aiming for nothing less than 80-90% support in the next presidential election, highlighting that voters have recognized the falsehoods used during the 2023 general elections.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, urged the Southeast community to maintain faith in the APC administration, noting President Bola Tinubu’s contributions to the region through key appointments and infrastructure development. He called for unity and diligence to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

National Chairman Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje emphasized the need for unity within the party to secure victories in Abia, Anambra, and Enugu States. He acknowledged the challenges in these states but expressed determination to liberate them. Ganduje called for cohesion, internal democracy, adherence to the party’s constitution, and a deep understanding of the party’s manifesto to ensure discipline and readiness for the upcoming elections.
