This demand was made in a communiqué issued following the Second National Executive Council meeting held yesterday in Benin, as announced by President Dr. Niyi Sunmonu. He expressed concern over the continued withholding of three and a half months’ salaries due to the ongoing strike by ASUU.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that ASUU initiated an industrial action in February 2022, which lasted about eight months, advocating for improved funding for university education and other issues.
