In a statement issued in Bauchi on Sunday, Senator Buba called the ruling a positive development for several reasons. He stated, “This judgment will be welcomed by all supporters of democracy and advocates for effective leadership at the local level.”

As a former local government chairman in Toro, he emphasized the timeliness of the Supreme Court’s decision, stating, “This intervention allows local governments to receive their allocations directly, fostering impactful leadership to tackle the various challenges our communities face.”

Senator Buba expressed optimism about the ruling’s potential impact, noting, “This judgment will reshape politics and governance not only in Bauchi State but across the entire country. However, meaningful change requires ongoing efforts from political actors and stakeholders to ensure this ruling leads to significant improvements in local governance and the lives of the electorate.”

He also extended his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, Attorney General of the Federation Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, and others involved in bringing about this historic judgment.
