During the event held at the Government House and attended by newly appointed second-class Emirs of Gaya and Karaye, Sanusi described the economic situation as unbearable, noting that many people are facing dire circumstances. He highlighted instances where individuals can only afford half portions of basic food items due to soaring costs.

Sanusi commended the Kano State Government for the initiative aimed at easing economic burdens and promoting food security. He suggested that such efforts could alleviate some of the challenges faced by the populace.

In response, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, pledged ongoing support for farmers to ensure food availability and affordability. Emirs Ali Ibrahim of Gaya and Mahammad Mahraz of Karaye also expressed optimism that the distribution of fertiliser would bolster food security across the state.
