The occasion, held at Jogor Centre in Ibadan to commemorate Akeredolu’s 68th posthumous birthday, featured the unveiling of a book titled “The Essential Aketi.”

Adesina remarked, “Aketi was a courageous and forthright leader, dedicated to uplifting the lives of people. His tenure as President of the Nigerian Bar Association saw unprecedented achievements, and as Governor of Ondo State, he elevated the state to new heights. His leadership in the Southern Governors’ Forum was marked by fearless advocacy for the voiceless, leaving a profound impact.”

He reflected on Akeredolu’s enduring legacy, noting that despite his premature departure, his contributions and compassion continue to inspire.

Representing Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Fola Oyekunle, Deputy Chief of Staff, praised Akeredolu’s transformative leadership in the Southwest, particularly in security and human development.

“He was a visionary whose administrative prowess reshaped Ondo State and influenced the entire region,” Oyekunle affirmed.

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, hailed Akeredolu as a patriot who championed justice and made significant strides in infrastructure, education, and security, notably through initiatives like the ‘Amotekun’ security network.

Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebamiji, represented by Deputy Governor Taiwo Olatunbosun, described Akeredolu as a unique leader who tirelessly advocated for societal welfare and amplified the voices of the marginalized.

The event also witnessed tributes from prominent figures including Folake Solanke, the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ikeazor Arakaiwe, First Vice President of the NBA, and family members who lauded Akeredolu’s profound impact on society.
